Pool Booster Pumps

It is important to maintain sufficient filtration in order to upkeep the cleanliness and healthiness of your water. The flow rate measures how fast or slow water circulates through your filtration system and the level of pressure determines the speed. In either case of too high or too low pressure, the water quality will suffer. The purpose of a booster pool pump is to act as an additional pump for increasing the water pressure. If you are using a high-pressure pressure-side cleaner, then you will need a booster pump to provide enough pressure in the pool’s plumbing system. Pressure cleaners are measured by pounds per square inch (PSI), and a cleaner that requires a higher PSI, needs that extra support provided from a booster pump.

A pool booster pump has the following main components: motor, impeller, inlet and outlet. There is also a sensing device that some booster pumps have installed intended to regulate the pressure and water flow. Fundamentally, a booster pump mirrors a regular pool pump's steps of operation. The electric motor turns the impeller. The impeller sucks the water from the inlet in order to be filtered. Once completed, the clean water is pushed out the outlet. Whereas a standard pool pump can power your pool’s filtration system; the price of a pool booster pump cannot operate on its own. It simply acts as a secondary piece for additional power. You cannot use a booster pump in place of a filter pump because a booster pump does not self-prime, and requires water flowing into it to work correctly.

A booster pool pump propels water but only does so after it has been filtered. For inground pools, the booster pump is stationed in between the return lines of the filter and the pool jets. In addition, a booster pump does not have a strainer basket thus, there is a greater significance placed on a filtration system working up to operational standards. The reason why there is a need for high pressure cleaners is because of those swimming pools that are in demand of a more effective clean. After all, it is the more powerful method of cleaning due to better flow and efficiency. Pool owners achieve this high level of pool cleaning through booster pumps.

We offer pool booster pumps for sale from trusted manufacturers Pentair and Zodiac. The best booster pool pumps for cleaning are the Pentair LA01N single speed universal booster pump, the Pentair LA-MS05 boost-rite booster pump, and the Zodiac/Polaris booster pump for I/G pool cleaners.
