On Pentair pool heaters, the metel vent cover is put in place to prevent burns when someone comes in contact with a warm grate. The 42002-0005S Pentair Metal Vent Cover is designed for use with Pentair Mastertemp and Max-E-Therm heaters. This metal vent cover prevents debris from entering your heater, protects your loved ones from being exposed to heat, and includes a warning about your heater's hot surface.
