Our Solar Blankets are made from a film of thousands of tiny bubbles, which work together to collect and retain heat in your pool at night and chilly days. The Solar Blanket floats on top of the water and allows the solar energy to pass through, then traps it as retained heat in the pool.

To provide some perspective on solar thickness, 1 MIL is a 1000th of an inch or .002 centimeters. Given the thickness is so thin and some advertise it as 12 mil, the cover would only be .03 centimetres thick. This has no impact on heat retention or water/chemical evaporation. The height of the bubble is the same for most covers because the required box size would otherwise differ, increasing the freight cost significantly.
Longevity and strength of material are the most important factors, and we concentrate on them because they matter most. A lighter cover is also much easier for the pool owner to use, reducing the physical stress of taking the product on and off. There is no concern as related to the end result on heat retention or evaporation. Our return rate sales for manufacturing defect is 0.002%.
